In this video, I’m going to be giving you some tips on how to start posting on LinkedIn and what type of content to share. I find this the most exciting part, the content.

If you’ve watched my previous videos, you have optimised your profile for your ideal client avatar and started building your network on LinkedIn, some connection requests.

All these factors are likely to increase your social selling index score which I’ve explained in the previous video. See the link above. This means you’re likely to be favoured by the algorithm and ultimately attracting inquiries or leads from potential customers.

Of all the social media platforms, I think LinkedIn feels the most daunting when it comes to posting content. You’re likely to worry about your colleagues, ex colleague and potential clients and what they might think of you.

In a way it doesn’t matter so much with Facebook and Instagram, the stakes are higher with LinkedIn and it’s reasonable to worry about jeopardizing your future career but don’t let fear stop your posting.

The best place to start is sharing other people’s content. Sharing articles which relate to your industry or profession and ideally add your own comment or opinion when you share someone else’s content, it’s a great place to start.

There’s some great resources to find content to share. My favorites are Google Alerts which you can set up an alert around particular key words and get e-mails daily or weekly depending on what you asked for.

Some other resources are used to find content to share are http//www.alltop.com which categorizes all the articles and includes blogs from just about any subject that you can imagine. I also use Flip Book but I don’t think it’s as good as it used to be, it’s a free app though and I also subscribe to Feedly which allows you to collect any blogs that you’re interested in so you can scan through the latest articles and share anything of interest.

Other tools worth trying are Buzz Sumo and Write Relevance, these both show popular articles, and is a great place to find share worthy content to get an idea of what type of content is popular.

Always keep your ideal costumer in mind, think whether they would be interested in the articles you share. Ideally, share something everyday with your own comment as much as possible, but don’t let trying to think of a comment to stop you from posting. It is better to keep active on LinkedIn to maximise your chance to being seen by your audience, than not post at all.

Please comment below if you have any questions about sharing other peoples or curated content and found this video useful.

My next video I am going to talk about posting your own content. So please subscribe and hit the notification button so you get an alert when the video is published.

Your content goes here. Edit or remove this text inline or in the module Content settings. You can also style every aspect of this content in the module Design settings and even apply custom CSS to this text in the module Advanced settings.
